351w streetable ?
i have a chance to obtain an early eights 351 out of an f-150 so iam told.
i currenlty have a stock 302 with all the bolt on junk.
my question is for a nearly stock FI 351 in a notchbe streetable i mean i hate to say but will it be much worse of mpg than the 5.0 ?
do you guy who have done this swap its a good idea these days or stay with a 5-0 ?
keep in mind iam young (not stupid but young) and not loaded with money but hey a free engine is a free engine.
so do you think this is an option or just stay with my 5-0 and h/c/i or drop a windsor in it ?
in the end its up to me but i was wondering if you guys think its ould be the right thing to do? are they just as relieble as a 302(iam sure your going to say yes but).
ok thanks in advanced guys.

RE: 351w streetable ?
Dont listen to Jasper, he's not the sharpest tool in the shed. Just kidding man, jasper is knowledgable. But I would keep that block and save your money to build it so it can look as good as mine. Well, you have a couple of opinions, so choose what suits you better. But keep in mind both opinions are telling you to get the block, it's up to you what you decide to do with it.

RE: 351w streetable ?
if you dont daily drive your car, I would take the winsor and break it down, invest in some nice pistons, crank and rods. stroke to at least 408, take the heads, if their aftermarket, from your 302 and put them on. You need to have the bolt holes drilled out to 1/2 and get some newbolts or studs. buy a trick flow track heat intake manifold for a 351W(this is important because of different deck height) tb,maf,24# or 30# injectors...all the goodies. save some money and do it right dude. Puting it in perspective, you will get crappy gas mileage but who cares lol you will be having a blast

RE: 351w streetable ?
Why wouldn't the 351 be streetable. As long as you dont:
super high compression
Huge camshaft
Huge tunnel intake for 9000 rpm
just be smart....its just more cubes
ps, my dads car is a Mild 351, very streetable

My engine has 11.1 com.ported TF's,vic jr,custom grind-588/622, dur @.050 is 246/259. I run a Holley HP 750. So you should not need one that big for the build you are suggesting.
