The 92 lightning blocks were roller equipped right? But Never had the roller lifters in there. I know the F4TE casting are roller FOR SURE!

Which one of us? I am going to assume me, as his setpu is in his Sig.

So I have a Probe forged 408 stroker kit. 4" crank, 6.125" I-Beam rods, 4.030" Pistons. I got a 74 block, and will have a super vic intake with ported windsor sr. heads or Vic Jr heads (Haven't purchased them yet) All topped by a pro systems 850 REALcfm carb

92civy,

you gonna run flat tappets or a linked roller lifter setup? i am thinking about finding a roller block but the older blocks are stronger (and more readily available). i just dont wanna have to spend $500 on a linked roller setup.

it just seems like a bad idea (to me anyway) to run used lifters on a new cam.

I have a set of used solid roller lifters. They will work fit! Since there is practically NO break-in for roller lifter/cam the wear on them is NONE! But for Flat tappet I wouldn't use used liftres. Partially because the wear pattern on the lifters isn't the same as the cam. So YES it can be broken in to work FINE! But thats my take.
