ok so i was installin the drive shaft just to see if it would got into the c4 trany..and i had no luck...First..it wouldnt spin into the back of the tranny...THEN i hooked it up to the rear end and tried to spin it into the tranny..and it seemed to be a lil bit short?? i was jsut doin a test fit to see if it would work or not..but i wil be puttin in a 8.8 rear end..so after doin that would that give me the several more inchs i need to make the driveshaft fit in properly?

The driveshaft should slide right in. Is the driveshaft stock? What did it come out of? It should go to the tranny first then the rear. Is the c4 stock or built?

yes its a stock drive shaft..and the c4 is fairly stock from wat i know

and it seems like it doesnt want to twist in..and when it was bolted up to the rear end it was several inches to short...i just wanted to make sure it fitted in properly cuz i am goin to put a new rear end soon

I am not to savy on the older bodies and what they came equipt with, but Im assuming you had the smaller 7.5" rear end with the 4 cyl? I had a '98 v6 with the 7.5" and swapped the 8.8" in. You will gain about 1" - 1 & 1/2" with the 8.8" rear end. I had to have my drive shaft shortend 1" because it was so tight on the output shaft that if I would have hit any good size pot hole or bump or even stood in it one good time and she bowed up on me it would have destroyed it.
