Default Connecting Rod Type

I was looking on the summit website and I found myself wondering if the H-Beam rods are worth the price for them? I am building a 351 with the output of about 600 hp and I wanted to hear your guys opinions on what type I should get. I am thinking H-Beam due to the increase in strength but I am torn due to the quick rev capabilities of the I-Beam. Opinions welcome.

i would go with h beam for the strength, i beams wont put up with 600 hp for long. just make sure that the entire rotating assembly is balanced at a good machine shop.

wrong, 600 is nothing for a good I beam, take the I beam. Make sure it has atleast an 8740 arp capscrew and think about moving to an arp2000 or L-19 capscrew

I say get a lightweight forged I-Beam rod. I have a 4340 Lightweight I-Beam and it will be plenty strong for my 408w!!!!
