I'm going to purchase a 408 stroker to replace the 270,000 mile 5.0 in my '89 but I'm not sure who's a reliable builder. I want 450-500 hp/tq at the wheels. It will be used on the weekends, mainly on the street, fuel injected, and doesn't need to pass smog. I had no problems with Ford Performance Solutions 10 yrs ago but I have heard some unflattering comments since then. Was also thinking about Coast High Performance and Smeding Performance. Any ideas or comments would be greatly appreciated...

Bennett and CHP come to mind first for me if you are going mail order... I prefer to find a local builder though.

 

Along with those above, talk to Gordon Levy and Mike forte. Both have excellent reputations in the Cobra community. I have done business with both, and highly recommend them.

Thanks for the responses. I'm leaning towards Bennett Racing for their 408. I'll post up more when I order it and install it.
