Question 351w question

Hi guys, I'm looking to purchase a 351w from a wrecker and do a full performance rebuild. I am finding two types of 351w though. AIR in head and AIR in manifold. What's the difference.
Thanks in advance.

I have never heard of that but, I put a '74 351w n my '87 and didnt come across any problem concerning that. do you plan on keeping it fuel injected or go with a carb. That might make a difference. I kept mine injected.

Thanks in advance.

Emmissions, ealry 351 Windsor had the air pump feeding the rear of the heads. Newer 351 Windsors had the air pump feeding it into external lines into the exhaust manifolds.
