i know i need a 28 oz. flywheel for my 351w/t5 but if i were to do to a parts store like autozone or advance etc. what mustang would i ask for 79-80 5.0? or are there any others? thanks.
You are out of luck. 28 oz 351 flywheels are going to be 164 tooth not 157. So you should be shopping for a steel billet in 28 oz in the 200 to 240 dollar range. Maybe cheaper on e bay but beware.
what would make the difference between the 164 and 157 tooth? starter? i seen the billet 28 oz. 157 tooth flywheels on ebay but i hate ebay but i dont want to spend 300 dollars right now either.

The 164 tooth flywheel will not fit in the t 5 bell housing. It is too large in diameter. If you want to run 28 oz buy the FRPP 157 tooth flywheel. It is billet and SFI too. I bought an ebay chinese 28 oz billet on the cheap. Got what I paid for. It damn near shook the dash out of the car. Balance was way off. Had to pull everything and start over. Ended up with the FRPP unit in the end.
so i took yalls advise and got the FRPP flywheel now can i use a stock 302 starter or what? sorry about all the easy questions i started the build from bare block and ran into a few problems so im asking questions for every little doubt now lol.

Some people would say there are no stupid questions. But then again some questions just are retarded lol.
Thats how you learn, ask questions. Better to do it before than after you break or waste your money on other things.
