i bought a 351 w bored 40 over, i am going to use the stock heads for a while . i am wondering are keith black pistons any good and cams what size should i get ?i am just using this car for going to the store red light racing the locals.thank for the help

 

dont bother even racing an ant with a stock headed 351w

 

what heads would would work the best?

 

thats a very subjective and opinion filled subject matter. but anything along the lines of a AFR 185, canfield 192-195, TFS fast as cast, RHS 180cc (with self aligning rocker arms), all would be a good place to start.

 

what about pistons and cams

 

unless you are planning on running alot of power through that engine, a stock rebuilt bottom end will work.

and the motor only has 1 cam. A custom stick would be best, once you post up some actual goals, you can choose from there

 

i am going for 400 rwhp and the stock crank has been ground down ,is what the guy i bought it from said.this is my first builded is i dont want to get to crazy.

 

What does your budget look like?

 

little at a time just tring to get the less costly parts first

 

400 hp isnt going to be cheap
