Default Headers Help again...

So I have a 351w with a C4 I am officially done putting the motor together. I have Vic. Jr Heads on it I know the exhaust port is raised but I wanted to know if the BBK shorty headers would work....Since the exhaust port is raised I was looking for the Kooks but my budget doesn't allow it and I want to get this car on the road already. Any help would be greatly appreciated?

These are the headers I am looking at

Come on guys help a fellow 351w Mustang owner out

Mac says they won't clear because of the exhaust ports being raised on the heads.

they're lying.

the ports on those heads are raised like 1/8".

thats about MAYBE 1/16" total over stock. theyll be fine unless youre running like 1/2" + raised ports.

they're just covering their asses.

You think that with the convertable engine mounts lowering it about .5 inch that would fix it, or am I way off?

DO NOT use the vert engine mounts. there's a reason Ford engineered the driveline angles the way they did. DONT change it.

and the height of the engine in the car is irrelevant, its the actual height of the ports on the heads.

either way, 1/8" is not going to result in catastrophic rubbing on the floorboard and ruin everything.

just get the MAC ones.

remember longtube > shorty.

not even a comparison.

They will work. I have to put the passenger side on with the engine lifted off the mounts a couple of inches and I clearanced the floor pan where it meets the fire wall.

1. Vert mounts are not going to hurt anything. Poly mounts are designed after the vert mounts and I have NEVER heard of any problems because of this.
2. The height of the engine does matter. The higher the engine sits, the higher the collector of the header will sit.
