351w failed emissions - plug gap?
I know for a 5.0 the gap is around 0.054", just wondering what you guys are using in 351's. I've seen anywhere from 0.035 to 0.044.
I got my car inspected a couple weeks ago and failed the idle test but passed the high idle (2500rpms):
Idle
HC 812 limit:220
CO 2.05 limit 1.20
CO2 12.45
O2 1.56
High Idle
HC 118
CO 0.07
CO2 14.84
O2 0.29
So I cleaned the air filter, changed the gap from 0.035 to 0.054 and raised the idle speed from 750 to 1000 and heres the results
Idle
HC 293 limit:220
CO 0.59 limit 1.20
CO2 14.02
O2 0.8
High Idle
HC 148
CO 0.42
CO2 14.46
O2 0.64
Now I'm going to get new plugs and wires, maybe jack the idle up to 1300 just for the test. The fuel pressure is at 39 now, maybe if I lower that a pound or 2 what do you think?
