Default Identify The Driveshaft!

I just jacked up my car to take some pics of my driveshaft. It looks to me like it is a 2-piece stel shaft, but I'm not sure if it is one of the old ones that might pop out? I'm not exactly sure what to look for.

I think is the old one, because in Afixer's (I think is the name) picture of the new one there are some little clips with a hole at the ends (retaining clips I guess) in the hole where the join is.... I think.

You are correct... on the old one the u-joints are staked in, while on the new ones they are clipped in... The problem is you can actually get the stakes to bend back over allowing the u-joint caps to start working their way out!

I'm not sure whether to say "Thanks" or "God Damnit"? But thanks for the help.

I'm assuming that the driveshaft from Powerhouse would solve this problem?

Thank you! Unfortunately those photo's were from last November... and we had a very busy winter! LOL! But it was a good article... LOL!

Oh.. but the cool thing about the pics... the ones where we're going down the road... I'm driving The Mistress, the photographer is laying on the tailgate of his station wagon and my BOSS is driving the photographer's station wagon! I mean we took half a day off from work to do the photos and then volunteered my BOSS to drive the station wagon! He was geeked!! I have a very cool boss! LOL!

Just how often do you drive over 113MPH??? LOL! I mean I trap at 102 MPH and I've made LOTS of passes... my driveshaft is still intact... I double check it every oil change... LOL

yes... actually last fall Mike told me about their V6 turbo car bending the stakes back over... they caught it before the driveshaft failed...
