Borla Vs. JBA

Borla Vs. JBA
Which one is better. I am referring to the single axle-backs. Ford Racing and Borla are same or is JBA's better. Let's make it interesting, we'll even throw MRT into the mix. Let's hear what you think

RE: Borla Vs. JBA
Define better. We always get into these discussions thinking there is some definative answer. I might say Ford Racing is best, but somebody else feels its too loud for the performance increase you get. Still somebody else things the 4" tip is too big and sticks out too far. There is no best. You'll find many people here who all like each and every one of the mufflers you mention. That should tell you that you'll probably be OK with any of the better axle backs.

RE: Borla Vs. JBA
I'll just give my opinion of the JBA single...
Awesome!! lol
But really, I've had it well over a year and a half and love it.
A common problem with most exhaust is drone. I have never had any drone
from this exhaust nor any cabin rattles. Perfect size tip IMO. Startup is sweeet,
idle sounds great, and when you step on it.. niiiice!!
Again it is purely up to you what you're looking for.

RE: Borla Vs. JBA
I have heard the following in person:
-Dual JBA w/Prochamber and LT headers
-Dual GT take off's with /Prochamber and LT headers
-Dual MRT w/Prochamber and LT headers
-Dual Magnflows w/X pipe
-Dual Magnaflows w/Y pipe
-Dual Flowmaster AT w/X Pipe
-Dual Flowmaster AT w/3in Y Pipe on Turbo
-Single GT take off
-Single JBA
-Single MRT
For the singles, from a sound perspective, the MRT gives a nice tuner car sound. Definitely the loudest in the singles I have heard. The GT take off was slightly louder than stock, and does flow a lot better according to all the tuners I spoke with. I really like the JBA, it was deep, but still had some growl and at the high rpm did not sound ricey.
I personally have not heard the Ford Racing\Borla in person. As for performance, everyone with a CAI, muffler (JBA, Ford, take off, Magnaflow, etc in single configuration) seem to dyno at around the same rwhp from my reading. Only the MRT has shown to come out on top on the dyno, though I would like to see it duplicated on another car via dyno session.
In the end, I went through 4 different exhaust setups (yes I am sick!) and I found, go with what sounds good...cause all the after market mufflers are going to flow better. So I went with the AT's. In your case, I havent heard the Borla, but really like the JBA's I heard in person a lot. It sounds tough and you can still talk to someone in the car, use your cell phone, etc.

RE: Borla Vs. JBA
afixer has gt takeoffs.
I've heard the GT takeoffs and they sound great at idle and a little above but are really quiet.
I had a single JBA on my car at first and loved it for a single. JBA makes great products.
