Default Is it worth the difference?

I'm going ahead with the install of the 3.73 gears, and need to decided on a LSD. Between T-Lok and TrueTrac, is it worth the 2.5 times the cost difference for TrueTrac? What do you guys think?

For most applications, the t-lok seems to be holding out quite well... guys like Scrming are showing it can handle loads of torque. But, eventually, it will have to be rebuilt (same with my Auburn). The TrueTrac will hold up until it just goes all together. It's also the strongest LSD out there, as far as I know... if you're still planning on forced induction (X-charger, right?)... the TrueTrac might be the way to go.

So, no clear cut answer for ya... but those are a few of the pros and cons of each. I was going to go with a t-lok until my shop cut me a good deal on the Auburn.

I also own a 2001 GT manual with almost 100K miles on my t-loc - its my daily driver and I haven't had a problem (or whine) in all that time.

Thanks for the input guys. I think I'll pass on the welding job though.

completely different unit, GTs are 8.8, 6ers are 7.5, the 7.5 is originally designed to come from the factory in the ranger/bronco 2, a detroit true trac has no clutches to wear out, hence it will last a longer time,

My understanding is that the spider gear design for the tlok that goes in the 7.5 is the same as the 8.8, only smaller. Correct me if I am wrong here.
