an automatic wont over rev it will just shift till the final gear.. then it will overrev lol..

unless you got a tune and yyou can controll shift points

the only way i can see if a miss shift blows an enigne is if they went from 4th to 1st or something... if they could even get it into first..

if not you may blow the teeth off a gear on a mis-shift

On a manual tranny during powershifting a missed shift will smoke the engine when it's overrevved. On an automatic if you manage to snap an axle or the driveshaft you could smoke the engine. Also an accidental drop into neutral under load could do damage.

how do you go about moving the limit?

Edit: and how would you go about removing it completely, and does this void the warranty?

You have to have an XCalII or equivalent to change the rev limit.
