Default Difference in Mufflers?

People claim there is a loudness difference in the manual or automatic GT mufflers. Something must be different because the manual costs almost 50% more according to the figures below for new OEM.

MUFFLER, Mustang, 4.6L, Right, Manual Trans 05-06 $240.27 $187.41

MUFFLER, Mustang, 4.6L, Right, Auto Trans 05-06 $169.07 $131.87

I looked at one take off site and GT mufflers are all one price ($89 a pair) and the description is automatic/manual so I guess they do not sort them, just sell them.

Looking at the dyno's of people after putting on GT takeoffs, i've not seen a any huge varience. So that leads me to believe there all the same.

I have to agree since 50 + poeple read this and no one said that there is any difference.
For $89 a pair the price is right and a lot of guys have gone that route and almost all were satisfied with the results.

I heard from a couple ppl who dynoed the difference and they said depending it may get 1-2hp more from a manual take off instead of auto. I got mine off of an 06 GT and its a nice thing so either way i dont think it makes a diff either way youll be happy.

some people on this forum claim that there is a difference, however, I have yet to see any substantial evidence to prove it. Someone out there may have tested it out on the dyno--not too sure though.

dunno if there is any different dyno gains but i used to have the manual one on mine and the guy at diversified had the auto one on his. Mine was louder. This was a long time ago so thye may have changed them to all be the same by now but i dunno.

I am not sure what difference they made on mine. Sound wise it is better. As I said in the other thread, they added my new exhaust and then did the tune, it was a 24 HP increase
