Default Performance Mods

K so Im a girl who has limited knowledge on cars. Im learning- Im getting engines better and stuff but still, remember im limited here! I just got a new 07 v6, and am wondering what the best mods were considered to be. And the best brand for these mods, shops, etc. Im in the houston, tx area. Im thinking my first mod should be cold air intake w/ cat back exhaust together. From there im not sure where to go, I have an upgraded interior so im not to worried w/ appearance at the moment, im looking for speed and sound. Any help would be appreciated.

You can't go wong with CAI(cold air intake) and X-Cal2 and single axle back. thats should probably one of your first mods. Then from their, you'll be infected with the mod bug which is known to cause loss of sleep decrease in cash and increase in debt etc...

+1

That mod bug is highly contagious and there is no cure currently available

Definitely can't go wrong with the intake & tuner

A C&L CAI/SCT X-Cal2 combo will definitely wake your car up...

The stock muffler is very restrictive... just replacing the muffler with an axle back will make a noticable difference... Don't really need a cat back... just an axle back... You can pick up a GT take off muffler pretty cheaply... however if you are looking for loud and a noticable performance gain, I recommend the MRT Aero-Turbine single axle back! It simply rocks! LOL! My write up on the MRT Aero-Turbine including pics, video clips and dyno sheet are at : http://www.v6john.com/Main/Performan.../axle_back.htm

Welcome to the site. There are several ways you can go, like others have said, go with a CAI/Tuner combo. Here is some details on them...

CAI/Tuner Combo
• Doug/B-a-m-a-chips: XCAL2 and your choice of TI or C&L CAI. (When I switched to his tune for my old TI, it shaved off 3/10ths on my time, his daily driver is an auto as well, though I think he has several test mules/test customer cars at his disposal)
• Evolution: XCAL2 and C&L
• AZDynoChip: XCAL2 and ? (don't know if they do the internet thing, they will tune any CAI and produce some of the highest dyno numbers)
• Lidio/Alternative Auto: XCAL2 and CAI (I did some research and several shops referred me to him for Automatics, his personal daily driver is an auto)
• Brenspeed: XCAL2 and C&L (another highly reputable shop)
• Justin/VMP Tuning: XCAL2 and ? (Considered one of the top dogs for the V6 stang community and collaborates with Doug on occasion to my knowledge, he’s also tested more CAI’s on the same dyno session than anyone I’ve seen so far, read about it here: http://www.v6power.net/vb/showthread.php?t=25551 )

Stick with any of the above and you will be fine.

Also, here is a list of power adder options for our cars, special thanks to Jimp for compiling it....

And a link to a cost-performance info on building a quick six....

Also, check out Soldshort's tech faq on this site, has a lot of good links and information. Also check out Scrming's site, lots of good information there.

Cheers.
