Default MRT CAI

So I've been thinking of doing some mods lately and I think the first 2 I want to do are an MRT axel-back and a CAI of some sort. While surfing around the MRT webpage, I saw that they have a CAI now that requires no tune. Has anyone used this yet? I really would like to try it out, but I haven't heard much about it yet.

Honestly i wouldnt bother with a CAI that doesnt require tunes. The most benefit you are going to get is from the tune. So IMO i would either get a pro shop CAI + SCT Tuner combo or just get the SCT because thats were you are going to get all the bang from. The CAI alone will only add pry 3-5hp. I would save up and get the Combo to get the most out of the money your going to be spending. Hope ya find what fits you.

I agree with HurricaneStang on this one. I put on an MRT muffler, and noticed a difference in accelaration and definitely sound. I then added an intake that didn't require a tune about 7 months later. The intake really sounds cool and seemed to make the exhaust note a little throatier, however I did not "feel" any increase in power. The engine does seem to rev quicker.

The intakes that don't require a tune are bringing more air indue to their free-flow design, however intakes that require a tune bring in alotmore air. We've all read the comments here that say "with intake and tune, it feels like a totally different, new car!" ....well, that's not the case with just an intake and exhaust. Tune required or not, the actual intakes are priced very similarly. Go for a tuner/intake combo.
