Ok guys I installed my JBA headers today. Disconnected the battery while doing it. I started the car up and had forgot to hook up the harness for the MAF sensor. I hooked it back up but the check engine symbol came on. I have an Innova OBD II scan tool and attempted to read and clear the code. My sensor kept reading error and would not let me clear the code. I checked the ODB II scanner on my Tundra and it read and connected w/out a problem. Any ideas? Can I just disconnect the batttery again to reset?
However, why does my OBDII not interface with the computer?
At my shop we just purchased a Snap-On Solus scanner. It ran right at $5000 with all the keys for imports and what not. We found the $100 scanners that you can get at the parts stores are very limited in the functions and compatibility of even newer vehicles. As to why your scanner wouldnt communicate im not sure, but I doubt your scanner is broke justnot compatible.
Equus just responded to my inquiry as to why the scanner would not work. They stated that Ford started using the CAN format for their PCMs. The 2007 will not interface with my scanner. Even worse is that the attempt to scan the Mustang's PCM corrupted the software in my scanner. They offered to upgrade my model for $69 with trade though.
