Default Engine Swap for factory V8's

Anybody know what swapping in an engine from a GT would entail aside from the obvious labor? Is the manual trans the same as the V6? Any weak links in the drivetrain? compatible wiring harnes? What about v8's from other vehicles, ie crown vic's, f150, explorer, etc. Thanks!

Different trans, different rear end, different driveshaft. Wiring, computer obviously. Different suspension but compatible. Best bet would beto find a wrecked GT and drop the guts in your car. Probably could findmany compatible parts in other V8 cars like the rear-end, engine and/or trans.

Thanks, that sounds sufficiently daunting.

Its not entirely too much work. It is entirely too much money though.

You could save money and headaches by trading your v6 in for a gt

Well, he does have a point, swapping a GT engine and such in a v6 will cost more money and stress than just buying a GT. You know that there will be no worries / malfunctions if you buy a GT from the dealer

Why swap for a GT engine? Why not get a ford racing crate engine instead if you are going to swap it in for a biggun?
Might as well do it up a notch if you are gonna put down the cash for something like that.
