Default Throttle lag?

What can I do to stop this. It is quite annoying when you push the gas down and its lags.

Tune?? Isn't there a way to re-calibrate the accelerator?

tune should help. But if you are going to tune, do a CAI too. I went way out of order. I got my CAI and exhaust first and still haven't got a tune. Most guys say that the throttle response is better after a tune.

Bet you have an automatic. If so there is much better throttle responce & downshifts after the tune & CAI. Get the entire package(cai, tune & muffler)and it will seem like a different car. Up shifts are much improved too. VMP and bama are good places to look. Well worth the money!

There is a throttle recal procedure. Use the search feature since I don't remember it step-by-step but it's pretty simple. It MAY help SOME. Best is a CAI & tune.

Also, be sure the TCS is off, if your car has it. AND, be aware that there's a TSB for the fuel pump where some cars will hesitate (and buck) when getting on it AFTER cruising at steady speeds. My g/f's '06 had it and it was definately different than the TCS related hesitation.

Yeah get a tune. Or a tune/CAI combo. With a combo, 80% of the gain is from the tune and the tune fixes the lag as well.

I rented a convertible auto last year and the throttle response made me glad I have a manual tranny.

Here's the recal procedure (cut & paste from another section)...

"Turn the key to ON (DO NOT START THE CAR!) and wait till all the normal lights in the dash go out, then slowly press the gas pedal until it is floored and release. Turn the key off, wait about 6 seconds and then start your car. Give it a try.

This will reset the throttle body settings and give the car a crisper feel. This is not a permanent fix but does help out every so often. Also unplugging you negative battery cable for 15 minutes will reset some settings but is not recommend unless you know what you are doing."

I just did this and wow did it help i dont notice it at all.

The reset by disconnecting the battery is 20 minutes, not 15, and is no big deal. On occasion, there are some things that need to be recalibrated like the window drop but I've done the disconnect 3 or 4 times and have never had any issues. The OM discusses how to reset things, if necessary, if your battery dies. Same philosophy...
