You can't use the transmission in your V6. The input shafts are different so you will need a new transmission and drive shaft too. You also will need a new ECU for the V8.

Take that $2500 and put it towards an X Charger or you can save up and just buy a used GT.

With out a complete list of what is needed your best bet is to buy a whole wrecked car so you can salvage what you need and sell off the rest. Off the top of my head you'll probably also want/need: the GT radiator & fan (up & lower hoses) front springs and brake rotors (w/ the caliper brackets), not sure if the brake booster & proportioning valve are different, GT sway bars, wiring harness if it doesn't have it, probably the motor mounts as well.

I looked into this option before I put in my x-charger...

Option 1: Shop Installed
10k-20k is what I was quoted from 3 different shops.

Option 2: Self Installed
I did alot of research and the price was still above 5k to do it self installed and that was the total before I factored in costs like brakes, springs/shocks (already had) etc.

Option 3: X-Charger...
This is the option I took. $5k and I was done with gauges and extremely happy.

There are guys who have bought entire wrecked cars and done the swap, but they did it themselves, and there is alot more involved than just swapping engines.

An X-Charger is also an easy 6-8 hour weekend install requiring only hand tools, You can't say that about a V8 swap.

take that and the amount of swapping and then add it to what you can get for your V6 and you can go buy a GT.
