Exclamation BBK Throttle Body

Hello,

I have a 4.0 V6 and Im ordering some stuff for it and wanted to know if a new throttle body would be worth it? I was thinking about getting the 70mm by BBK but wanted some opinions on it first.

Thanks

People reported problems with the BBK getting stuck or not operating smoothly.

TB upgrade isn't all that worth it on a normally aspirated car.

What TB is recommended on the 4.0 anyway?

Aftermarket TB's provide little to no performance gain on a NA S197, be it a V6 or V8. The stock TB's provide as much air as a NA or non-modded engine can handle.

Zabteck has been the most reliable. It's a factory TB that's been modded to open up the bore diameter

But is the Zabteck still mainly for FI or will it improve NA stangs too?

Save your money on that throttle body and get yourself a good cai/tuner/perf. exhaust and you wont be sorry. Then you can get gears & T-lok to put that power to the road. A totally different car!

Verry bad idea. I got the part and then my car wouldnt run right. I tried all the tricks before I called BBK and they said that a rare % of mustangs ( 4.0 ) need to have a tune jsut for the TB but they dont put it on their box due to it being rare. I call BULL S*** on this but w/e. I returned my TB and put the money else where. All in all it did more harm than good.

PS: Oh and yeah if you let the RPMs get too low the car freaks out and goes into limp home mode. If you've never been there its not fun.
