Default v6 dual

ok so i finally got the V6 set up with the two gt muffs...so its now a dual exhaust...

the muffler man installed the 2 mufflers but he did not connect the mid pipes to anything....both the pipes run on their own from the cats....

i mean, there is no x-pipe or an h-pipe of any sort...

could this be the cause of my mustang sounding like an import? ugh!

its a 2005 by the way

Try the 2005 and up section. This is the 3.8 v6 section

The 4.0 does sound a bit odd without an X or H

I installed a kit from Nino Sport...it leaves the stock "Y" pipe in place and splits it from that into duals to the back. Essentially it is a "modified x" with a longer mid section to it. I have M/T GT take off mufflers.

It has a great sound, not annoying loud and zero drone. Sounds nothing like an import.

Yes, without an H or Y the dual GT take offs will sound crappy (sputtery) at idle.
Just have an H put in. He can weld it in without taking it all apart.

Try your local Craigslist as well as the parts for sale here on Mustang Forums.
I got Pypes X pipes and mid pipes for the two GT mufflers. Sounds really nice but in the future I want Borlas.

The "H" pipe is roughly a 6" piece of pipe connecting the 2 pipes that run along the driveshaft. You don't need to buy one.
Have the exhaust person make one. He will use his torch to cut holes on the inside of the 2 pipes and he will weld in the H pipe. 20 minutes.
