That's pretty much the meat of the issue tx. Right now I'm thinking about just adding a K&N high flow filter and a tune to help things out. But there's no beating the heat.

TX, can a slight adjustment be made with the xcal2?
I've never messed with the timing adjustment.
How do you advance or retard timing with the xcal2?
Which optional parameter is that? Just wondering.
Thanks

Any adjustments that you can make have to be "allowed" in the tune and have parameters within which you can make the adjustments. If your tuner selected those values to be adjustable, you'll be able to set them as you wish.

This includes timing, WOT air/fuel, cooling fan on/off temperatures, auto tranny shifting parameters, gear ratio, tire size, and others.

If you're thinking of doing a K&N CAI, you won't gain much out of it by itself; a custom tune will bring it to life, though. The K&N CAI was the 2nd mod I made, and resulted in very little additional power. More power was felt altering the exhaust, and then a good amount was felt with a custom tune.
