Default Automatic to Manual conversion? =\

Uhm, is it possible? I have a 2008 v6, automatic. It was a graduation present, so I had absolutely no voice in the decision. I would LOVE to have a manual. If it is possible, what all would be needed? And what would be an estimate of a price? I've seen on ebay where you can get a GT transmission for roughly $2,000...so I'm assuming the v6 wouldn't be near as much? I'm a noobie, needing all the help and answers I can get. Thanks guys.

I'd say unless you were doing an engine swap as well, it's just not worth it. As you would have to change trannys anyway. The price gets way above that $2K transmission on ebay real quick. I've talked to a mechanic friend recently who has experience with this such thing, he said at best 6-10K.

if u can talk ur parents into it just look around for a manny and try and trade it in or sell it, because u wont take as big of a hit cash wise as doign the conversion yourself. if thats not a feasible option, get a tune and a CAI to make up for some of it

My vote is to drive it or trade it.
Too many issues involved in the transformation.

Yeah I will have to agree with the posts above, its not worth switching out the tranny, if you can't trade the car, go with a tune, it will make the tranny shift way better.

I would check on availability of shift kits for your tranny.
Be very careful w/ shift kit install and break in; else you could be in for an overhaul.
