If I stay out of it, I can manage 28mpg at 70mph all highway of course.

Around town.....I'm lucky if I manage 22, VERY lucky lol

Just mod it.....by 2012 gas WILL be $5/gallon.....but I look at it this way, We will only have one more year to live by then (sarcasm-mega-rolls-eyes) lol
Gas will rise and fall, it's a yearly trend....it sucks, but it happens.

it rises for summer because of everyones trips, then when school starts for the children it will fall. and when i see my gf i drive over 100 miles, mostly at 70+ so im in the 2200+rpm range and my gas mileage is crap..i spent $400 on gas in 2 weeks workin minimum wage and like 35 hours a check(every two weeks)

auto verts don't get great mileage but I drive 95 miles both ways for work and to see my gf. I put up with the gas because it's fun to drive

Supercharger + v8 = has hog

Try a turbo, if you can manage to stay out of the throttle you'll get better gas mileage

Only fools believe that $5 a gallon crap. Remember last winter when they said by summer gas would be like 6 dollars a gallon? And what happened? Did it ever get that high? No? Ok. That's right. Gas will go up, I am sure, but $5 a gallon? Not gonna happen.

If the government lets it go that high and doesn't step in by releasing reserves and bringing the price down, then they have tanked any progress made towards a recovery.

Buy one of those new electric cars. You get 100 miles on a charge and you never have to put gas in it. That works too

but if gas was really that big of an issue, then i agree with Nuke, why buy a mustang? lol. the other idea is to do what i said itll save you gas money, but its not going to be a crap load or like hitting the lotto, maybe 300 a year or less because youll always have to pay for gas even without any mods at all

good luck with the decision, but i will warn you MODDING IS ADDICTIVE!
I am running 550 rwhp on my Snake and the only gas mileage number I worry about is if it gets me to the next gas station!!
