Default Question about tuning.

I had a quick question about the Bama Tunes on American Muscle. With the automatic, I heard they adjust shift points and such. Does this help at all with the downshifting? The downshift lag seems ridiculous in my car but I've heard Ford automatics all have this problem. I was hoping the tune might help a bit.

Im sure someone will be able to assist you, I have a manual and am very happy with what the SCT Tuner has done for my car.

Yeah, I've heard nothing but good things about the tunes. I just wasn't sure if it affected the downshifting at all.

BTW, is the 87 street one pretty much the same as stock with gas mileage?

Theyre all about the same gas mileage wise if you drive them normal.

What is "gas mileage"? Sort of silly to spend $600 for a performance mod and THEN think about improving gas mileage...

There are other ways to save your pennies so you can hammer down and enjoy your Stang.

And a good tune will reduce or eliminate throttle lag.

Once you feel the new added performance gain, gas mileage won't matter to you. ;-)

its been so long since I ran the 87 street tune, i have no recollection. I will say with the 93 race tune I'm averaging 35 more miles to a tank of gas.
