Default missing catalytic converter causing problems?!

Ok after getting to the ehxaust shop to get my car after getting my dual pypes M80s installed (sounds amazing..but way loud lol) the shop owner informed me that almost all of the rear catalytic converter on the passenger side was missing. Now i've been having alot of trouble out of this car as in: loss of power, poor mpg, stuttering at low speeds, stuttering when shifting at low speeds. I remember a loud bang and a blinking engine light after the loud bang happened, which is when my problems started. Do you think the one less cat on the passenger side is my problem? ( Had transmission checked out and it was all clear)

Well if its naturally aspirated I have heard that our cars dont put out enough back pressure if we cut the cats or run straight pipes so that could explain the loss of power and stuttering you have been feeling.

you just need to be patient... it may take a few days to get a response.

Rear catalytic converter??? The cats are bolted to the exhaust manifold, front of the car. If the cat was damaged and not functioning propery you should have been throwing codes.

The cats are behind the headers and in front of whatever kind of pipe you have ( x pipe, H pipe, y pipe, or custom exhaust) You should have two not one. If you only have one that will mess up the flow of the exhaust and hurt the engine. You should have a tuner, so you need to use it to get codes to figure out what exactly is wrong then fix it . taking the cats off will give you less back pressure within the pipes meaning that you need more rpms to run smooth. Good luck with your prob and be patient next time. Some of us actually work for a living.

You need to take it in to Ford, there is an 8 year 80,000 mile warranty on emission controls.

I'll assume you've been underneath to see for yourself since most shops are money-hungry and will tell you BS quite frequently. Some pics would be nice, too, but if the shop is being truthfull, then yes, any change to the exhaust that causes that significant of a flow imbalance can cause issues.

Just curious; what kind of responses have you received from the non-bashed forums?

Sorry for the comment bout the bashing was a little uncalled for. But on the other site i posted on I got a response from a few people that same day. And sorry guess my job being from 6:30am-3:30pm gives me some free time. And we got the car as is...so no warranty sadly. When you ask for pics i forgot to say almost all of the internals of my rear passenger side catalytic converter is missing. I need to replace my cats buit I have one question to ask. Should I get factor replacements? Or should I go with pypes high flow cats? And if I go with the hogh flows will I need a tuner?
