Default Question on exhaust

Hello, I recently received my first mustang today. I have had little prior experience with this car (2007 ford mustang pony) and I am looking for a cheap way to give it a little more sound. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

The easiest, cheapest, best bang for the buck and I think one of the better sounds is to just get a set of take off GT mufflers, the over axle pipe for the driver side, a set of hangers for the driver side muffler, and then either an H or X pipe to splice in place of the current Y pipe from your down tubes off the stock cats. Leave the cats in place, I don't know any of my friends who was happy with that sound; all regretted doing it.

Here is when I had the GT take offs on my car (off a GT500 but up until 2010 model year the GT500 simply used the same mufflers as found on a GT with an automatic). I have the X pipe with this set up as well.

And this is with my new set up, I changed and put a pair of mufflers off the Bullitt (GTB mufflers). Still have the X pipe

Thanks for the idea. Depending on the cost I could see myself with a set up very similar in the near future.

The first set (the GT500 take offs) are going up for sale if you are interested. I took some pictures but my computer monitor crapped out so I can't download them yet. They have black chrome tips on them that I got from MRT rather than the slash cut tips so a little different look.

Whatever you decide, don't pay too much for something just because they came off a Shelby GT500 (I actually picked mine up complete from the cats back for less than a set of GT take offs alone). A lot of the GT500 parts are the same as either a GT or V6 - the side skirts for example are the same as the textured ones on the V6, and I see people paying big bucks for them just because they came off a Shelby!

If your main focus is getting a better sounding exhaust with minimal cost, maybe just replace out the existing stock muffler with a GT takeoff or SLP exhaust. The sound will not be as loud as having duals, however it will sound better than the stock exhaust. Good luck!
