Default lower front bumper insert

does anyone have tips for removing the lower front bumper insert on a 2009 v6? a chunk of truck tire came flying from under the car infront of me on my am commute. no lane for me to change to. it looks like at least one or two retaining points broke. i'd like to remove it and check it out further. thanks in advance

Hmmm.... can't imagine it to be too difficult.... as mine oft attempts to separate itself from the car un-bidden..... Of course... could be it's damaged and I've just not really investigated. Either way, in the case of mine, it pops back into place without too much difficulty?

I got it, the trick is the top comes out first (two tabs) and then the bottom (4 tabs). The road debris that hit it broke the top tab on the one side and it didn't look too good that way. Found the part at the dealer for $37 plus tax, so I'm back looking better, just have the paint scratches and dent in my a/c coil. Could be worse.

Thanks!
