Post Bumpy Ride

So my 2008 V6 Automatic seems to be riding kind of rough even when simply driving straight. Granted I live in a pretty small city with kinda crappy roads, it seems to be overly bumpy. I know my tires are in need of replacement soon, could this be the cause or is it time to look into a new suspension kit?

It could be a couple of things. Did this just happen or has it always been crappy/bumpy? Perhaps a better description would be helpful.

A rough ride could be due to too high a pressure in the tires. Are you running close (within 2-3 PSI) of what's listed on the door placard and Owners Manual?

What size wheel/tire combo are you running? The bigger the OD on the wheel, the less sidewall there is to maintain staying close to the factory tire O.D.. Less sidewall = harsher ride.

Are you feeling any vibration in the steering wheel or in your butt? A tire can have a belt shift which can cause it to go out-of-round and make the car "bounce".

I drive a Ford 500 and my wife has a Mustang. The 500 is honestly not a bad driving car (its not "floaty" like a Buick), but the Mustang is a bit harsher. She used to have an 02 Civic and honestly that car rode terrible, even with new shocks. The Mustang is sporty - I am sorry I don't know if this is helpful or not, but just letting you know of my experience.

If you have any clunks, that might be an indication of potential problems.

Good luck and let us know!

Quick update on my problem.
Issue Was that the tire pressure was too high. Let the Girlfriend borrow my car and she put air into my tires for some bizarre reason and didn't tell me about it. Let the extra air out and its as smooth as when I bought it.

Thanks!

Thats worth at least 4 BJ's (1 per over inflated tire)...
