Default Gas gauge drops from 1/2 to E

I recently bought a 2007 V6 w/ Pony Package. I was driving it one day and the gas gauge reach 1/2 tank, then it dropped to E. I did some research and came across that adding Techron to the fuel could be a possible solution. I did that then filled it up. This time it got to 1/4 tank and it then dropped to E again. I am going to try the Techron again and see what happens, but I was wondering if anyone else has ran into this problem or if anyone had some solutions.

Thanks

Does it drop to "E" fast or slowly? Are you sure you've been filling the tank?

I'd almost have to say it's the gauge stepper motor but it's a little more unusual to hear about stepper motors issues in an '07 as opposed to an '05 or '06.

I question your methods of testing.
Fully understand the four modes of
the fuel gauge and then get back to us...

His first post and probably last until another question arises
about another 'issue' with the new 07 stang...

Gotta love the traffic round here parts.
