Default V6 S197 Tune Files?

I just bought a SCT SF3/X3 Power flash from a guy on craigslist that also had an automatic V6 like mine but his tunes don't work for whatever reason the car boggs down and stalls out and says something about the o2 sensors are reading its running to rich. I've just been running the 93 octane strategy tune on there which is ok buy im assuming im missing out on a lot of gained horsepower from a bama tune, etc. Does anybody have any bama tune files or any other custom tune files for their auto v6's they can share?

My car -

2006 Mustang V6, automatic, bbk cold air intake, custom gt dual exhaust with pypes x-pipe. 18" Mustang club of America wheels and a few cosmetic mods.

A custom tune written for someone elses Mustang will not work on your car or any other car. Each and every tune is written entirely custom from the ground up for the customers car (If they have a Bama tune). For every Bama Tune we ask you 19 questions about your specific Mustang, including your unique mods and style of driving. This info helps us write custom tunes from the ground-up for your Mustang's mods that will give you the most horsepower that we can safely deliver. We're also constantly developing our tunes! Between our 14 different Project Mustangs and tons of street/track and dyno testing (on our in-house Dynojet 224xLC), we're looking for any minor tweaks to be made that can benefit you guys.

We can definitely get you enrolled in our free tunes for life program. However, since the device wasn't purchased through us, you're not automatically enrolled so there's a one time fee of $150 buy in.

I hope this helps! Give my Bama team a call if you have any questions or need some assistance. Our Bama Performance tuning specialists are here in the building Monday-Friday from 9AM-5:30PM EST and Saturday 9AM-5:30PM EST. You can hit them up directly at 888.226.9764 and they'll get you squared away!

His PCM calibration code and physical modifications must match your
vehicles PCM cal code and physical modifications to the T before his
custom tunes will work on yours...

Nope, can't share tunes like that. They are semicustom for each PCM code as already mentioned a few times. At the very least you get driveability issues like what you're having, at the very worst, you damage your engine permanently.

Contact AM, Brenspeed, or Lund to get you the right tunes for your car before you do permanent damage.

I kinda got screwed. I was just going to buy it new from Americanmuscle \ bama but this guy on craigslist was like hey you can buy the tuner from me for $200 and its got all the tunes you need. He said he had an auto v6 mustang also and asked me for the code on the side of my engine computer and said it matched so they will work no problem lol. Not the case at all. All of his tunes cause my engine to stall the second I put my foot on the gas. Pretty crappy! lesson learned. So $200 + 150 more for tunes.

Always ask the forum or call AM/BAMA or Brenspeed when in doubt.

Lessoned learned. The guy that sold you the tuner either didn't know any better or flat out lied to you.
Before purchasing any used or new items for your Mustang, I would recommend researching the MF site first. If you are not able to find any answers, then post a question.

As you may already know, $379 will get you a brand new SCT tuner from AM/Bama with 3 custom tunes already pre-loaded specifically for your car. All you would have to do is attach the SCT tuner to you car and upload the custom tunes.

Reach out to AM and they will take care of you!

Yeah I spoke with AM\Bama and they said I just have to buy into their tunes for life program for $150 and ill be good to go. So a used tuner + lifetime tunes = $350 so I saved $30 overall and lost tons of time going back and forth between the guy who sold me the tuner and AM\Bama lol. Lesson learned for sure!

If you had known this info prior to purchasing the used SCT tuner, you could have used the info as a bargaining tool and may have gotten a better deal. ;-)
Good to hear all worked out!
At this time, I am assuming you are waiting on AM to create the custom tune and email it to you?
It is definitely worth the $$$$$$$!
