Rusted mount under front seat
Now the more I think of it, the more I should have known better. When I bought the car (before delivery), I noticed that the door sill plate (silver MUSTANG plate) was badly corroded and I told them that one condition for purchasing the car was for them to replace that, which they did with no problem, no argument. Don't you think they would have noticed this corrosion, which is not cosmetic but a safety problem? UGH.
The '07 must be different. The sill plate on my '06 is black plastic. But you are right. Simply replacing it without looking into the cause is unsettling. If it were me, I'd ask them the remove the seat and tracks and pull back the carpeting. Any corrosion should be blasted and repainted or, if it's severe, cut out and new metal welded in. You don't want to be questioning if your seat will come detached in the event of an accident.
Best of luck getting it sorted out and post back what they found and how they resolved it.

The dealership owner is aware of the issue. Let's see if they step up to the plate [pun intended LOL]. I will see if there is any legal recourse if they don't fix it. I hope it doesn't come to that.
But you DO agree that it has to be addressed, correct?

I have the pony package as well. Airbag or not, a front end collision could be catastrophic if your seat comes detached due to rust. Having said that, I also have a '68 coupe that has no airbags nor a breakaway steering column. It's a risk I take, as we all did back in the days when these were state of the art. It's not a daily driver which makes a big difference. You need to decide what you feel safe with based on how much you drive and how you drive. If it's a daily driver, if it were me, I'd be concerned. But that's just one opinion.
Thanks, Bitter. It's not a daily driver for me at the moment. But safety is safety, regardless of how often/far I drive the vehicle. Before selling any car, unless otherwise disclosed (which it wasn't), any used car in Ontario MUST be e-tested and safety certified. Anyway we'll see what tomorrow morning brings.

OK so I took the car to the dealer this morning, as they had to replace the remote starter/alarm that were part of the original car from the factory. Those are working GREAT, I cannot believe how much I love that!
I showed the manager the rust that is in the pic I uploaded to Flickr and he showed me every other Mustang they had on the lot that had the same thing. He said it's not a safety issue, it's from the bad Toronto weather and salt on the roads in the winter, etc. However he did say they will remove them, sand and repaint so they hopefully won't rust or corrode any further.
I'm not sure I'm up for the battle, to be honest, so I said ok, and I will make an appointment for them to do that.
In any event, EVERYTHING else is working great, I really love this car. In fact, you may laugh (well maybe not since you're all Mustang lovers), I took a CD down to the car where it was parked, put it in the Shaker 500, climbed in the back and cranked the stereo and just sat and marveled at the sound that enveloped me. I'm a weirdo, I know.
And a woman who couldn't have been any younger than 65 or so, actually stopped me as I was pulling out of the parking lot to say "wow what a gorgeous car".

If that's the norm up there, and Ford says it's safe, I'm not one to argue. Down here, salt has been replaced for the most part by an alternative. To me, it seemed to be a bit more than you could tracked in but, once again, Nuke called it. If they're willing to clean it up at least you have the benefit of it appearing as it should.
As for the tunes, a lot of people complain about the Shaker systems, but I think it's one of the better factory stereos. I particularly like the fact that the volume is adjusted automatically to compensate for road noise.
Enjoy your ride and treat it well. It is a gorgeous car.
Thank you for posting a followup. Many people don't.

Thanks Bitter. Great to read your thoughts.
Something else that kind of surprises me is the non-lockable gas cap or lid. I've already ordered the locking cap from American Muscle. I find it funny that these days they would produce cars with 'open' fuel doors. Maybe the designers at Ford are very trusting people.
