Question People these days...

http://sacramento.craigslist.org/pts/4580109452.html
This is a sacramento Craigslist ad for a rear end from a gt 3.55 gear ratio.
750$....
http://www.cjponyparts.com/ford-raci...FQOHaQodJyAAFA
999$. brand new here plus 200$ shipping.

Now i have spoken with at least 100 different people about purchasing a rear end . I have never found someone lower than 500$
How in the world can a rear end with 70k miles be 750$.
I still have to purchase the spline shaft and driveshaft. This upgrade won't even supply more horsepower to my vehicle.

Ive also talked to numerous members that have purchased a rear end through craigslist they all report , buying their individual rear ends from 200-500$

I think fair pricing on a rear end that has 10k miles should be 500$ due to the fact that a brand new one is 999$.
Where do i go a bouts finding a 3.55 8.8 rear end from 300-500$ please someone help

I got mine for $575 (3.55) but unless you get lucky, it will be really hard to find a rear axle for $500 or less.
With the new body style coming out, it will help drop the price some...

well the guy keeps going down on the price now . so hopefully he ends up around the 400$-500$ range. . i still think its overpriced with 70k miles you never know what the rear end has been through . dirt rocks debris from the road definately weakens the metal . wish me luck
.
any idea on how much i will get for my 7.5

Dirt, rocks and debris ain't gonna hurt your axle housing, running it dry will mess up the gears though.
So pull the pumpkin cover and inspect it carefully when you get it.
70K miles under normal conditions is not a whole lot for the 8.8...

As far as your 7.5, it's not worth much.
Junk yards let you have those for $100 or so.

Keep in mind, that new 8.8" doesn't come with the diff or gear, so you'll have a significant investment in parts & labor after the initial $1k buy price.

My two cents: I'm a fan of buying a complete, built rear from Strange Engineering.

That's why everyone is looking for a used assembly if you don't have a built engine, which was my case...
Buy the $35 Cobra flange and have a buddy help you with the swap.
Me, if I'm gonna spend big bucks on a rear axle, I'll go 9"...
