Posi Traction LSD
Hey guys im thinking of getting an lsd for my 05 V6 ( i have actually thought and really want to just get a v8 rear end since all 05-14 would fit) but for the time being i just wanna ask a question would any 7.5 inch 28 spline rear end LSD work on my mustang since they are too expensive for something im going to get rid off soon i was thinking about seeing if any other ford or something would have an LSD thats the same size as mine so i can go to the junk yard and get it for probably like 30-40 bucks. Appreciate the help thanks a lot in advanced

Norlin, you are dealing with a double edged sword here. If you are going to stay "stock," I would recommend investing your money in a Yukon DuraGrip Posi rear. PN# YDGF7.5-28. On the other hand, if you intend on making modifications, maybe a ProCharger, I would suggest going with the 8.8, 31 spline, with all appropriate internals, and being done with it.

The cost of trying to upgrade the 7.5" isn't worth it. Just swap the 8.8" and be done.
And no, you can't swap any rear end itself. But you could pull the LSD out of a Ford 7.5" rear end and use it, as long as the 28 spline rear end was used in what you pull it from.
But again, the cost in the end isn't worth it. By the time you pay for the LSD to come out of the rear end, and then have someone install it in your existing 7.5" rear end, you will have spent more than just getting the 8.8. And you will still have a weak rear end that is easily broken (all it took was a set of drag radials and tune to break supposedly indestructible Richmond gears).
