Default Fuel Filter Problem Need Help before it gets dark

I got the metal clamp that holds the filter to the bracket off. I got the clamps the hold the lines to the filter. How on earth do i get the metal fuel lines off the fuel filter. and i got the fuel filter out of the bracket.

what you need is the right tool for the gas line to free it from the filter when you get that there should be no prob. i did my own last week

You should be able to buy the tool at autozone or advanced its called like a ford a/c and fuel quik disconnect tool. Just tell the guys at the auto store what your doing and they should know exactly what your talking about.

What you have is a compression fitting you can pick the tool up at autozone, I don't know the name of it but it is 2 parts that are rivited to gether in the center at each end is a round lip one side is larger than the other. I think it's like 4 $. REMBER vent you tank and leave the key's out. You don't want to get drenched.

unclip the reainer if you have one it didn't look like you did. hold the hose side in your hand, open the tool and close it around the shaft of the fule filter it will slide freely on this shaft. Press hard on the tool and hose to depress the compression fitting then pull it off. It take a little finess, but it's not hard.

ok thanks guys. Ya i said forget it tonight ill just put it back on and wait change it another day. go figure ford makes you have some special tool to take off a fuel filter.. I work on my chevy g2500 vans a lot they have 2 plastic clips that hold the fuel filter on. Very simple. How do you vent the tank??

i didn't need any special tool when i did mine, i took the clips off and then pulled it right off....
