Default TB + Plenum Combos ?

alright, so im about to lay down the money for a TB + Plenum combo, and i was curious if it was a bad idea to mix/match them.

right now, im thinking of possibly going with an accufab tb or plenum, and going maybe the professional products route on the non-accufab part. is this worth doing? and if so, which is the part i should be spending more dough on, the tb or plenum?

you can mix & match doesnt really matter. I have BBK 75mm TB + C&L Plenum. Accufab TB/Plenum was rated 1-2 more hp then other TB/Plenum combos. If you want extra 2 hp and some bling bling then buy accufab combo for $400 some.

is one part a little more important than the other? say if i wanted to splurge on one part rather than the other, what would be the one to do so?

I use the Accufab plenum with the Ford Racing 70mm throttle body. They work great together. FR TB has all new sensors already attached to the body. Any other TB and you will have to make the swop from your stock unit. Accufab products do test out strong and look great under your hood. Good luck!

I'm running both MAC 75mm TB & Plenum and have had no problems at all. People say stay away from MAC but I've used their stuff and have had no problems. Plus the MAC combo was like $275 compared to other combos at over $300...

i like the idea of the ford TB having the TPS on it, but its quite expensive for only a 70mm TB. i was definitely going the 75mm route. the gains on the C&L website spell it out pretty well.

I bought the Accufab TB/Plenum combo. Sure it looks nice, but my original intention was to buy the BBK combo. Unfortunately everyone I called was sold out.

Hey if you want me to later I can post some links to websites that did dyno's on all the combo's. THe best was the Accufab combo, but the C&L Plenum w/ Accufab TB got the second best at only 0.6 HP less than the Accufab/Accufab combo. I got the C&L Plenum w/ Accufab TB myself becasue it was $300, while the Accufab/Accufab was $400. $100 for 0.6 HP, not worth it IMO. Anyways, PM me and I can posts the links later when I get home, won't be till like 11 EST tonight, gotta work all day.

I lied, I forgot I had another posts with the links in them, check it out:

Yes, there are a lot of websites that have posted reviews on different intake plenum and throttle body combinations. The Accufab gets the best reviews everywhere you go. I a not a big fan of the professional products intake plenum and t-body. I have the C&L intake plenum and Accufab 75mm t-body. In my opinion, just because the Professional Products stuff looks like the Accufab (all nice and polished) just remember that goos old saying "You get what you pay for". The Accufab combo is $400, the C&L plenum w/ Accufab 75mm t-body is about $300, the BBK combo is also $300. The professional products is $215 bacuse it gives you the least performance of the combo's. This is just my $0.02. If you want performance but don't want to spend a lot, then go with the Professional Products. If you want almost the best but don't want to spend $400 then go with the C&L or BBK. If you want the best Accufab is the way to go. Just do some online research
and check out these websites.
