check engine light

Default check engine light

well i installed my JLT intake yesterday, it ran great all day no problems.. this morning go to start up the car and right away the check engine light comes on...

checked all connections for the intake everyhting is fine...

any ideas?


how do i check what code its throwing? i dont have a manuel so i couldnt look in there if it happened to be in there..

i searched and nothing came up realateing to my question

sooooo...

anyone?

did you remove maf screen its probably a code for it running to rich or something if you take it to autozone they will tell you ive heard

i did remove the screen, but why would it decided to pop up now, i drove the car like 30miles Plus after i installed it... along with beating it some...

maybe it doesnt say a code till it is positive. I think removing the maf screen could cause the maf sensor to go off from to much air, im not sure if you had an odb11 reader you could tell what code it was throwing.

The OBD11 is the diagnostic computer. there is a port for it on the drivers side by where your right foot would be. If you take the car to autozone they will hook up a code reader to it to help you figure out whats wrong.

yeah id say get the code checked then go from there

Removing the screen doesn't make the car run rich. It leans it out.


The intake install and the CEL probably don't have anything in common but.....


Did you remember to remove the battery for 10mins before starting the car back up after installing the intake? THe PCM needs to relearn the new air mixture and diconnecting the power for a few minutes resets teh PCM and will relearn from there.
