A tuner or chip can adjust timing, A/F, rev-limiter, T/C, top speed, o2 sensors, etc.

Pending on which tuner you get, depends on what it does to the car. For example. With diablo sport you can set the timing, a/f ratio, etc to what you want. Where as with the Superchips/Hypertech tuner it is set to whatever the tuner company set the timing, a/f ratio and its automatically in the tune that you can not adjust. Diablo/SCT Tuner are very good ways to tune your car and diagnostic troubleshooting.

If you have an automatic car you can firm up shifts, change tire size to correct speedo, change gear ratio to correct speedo, turn off rear 02 sensors for o/r mid pipes so you dont have to buy MIL eliminators.

Hope this makes sense.

You have the car dino-tuned to see what it can take. After that you set it to what you want it to push.

Tuner tells the computer if floored shift at 5800 instead of stopping at whatever it stops at.

Both are great mods to do to your automatic to make it go a lil faster.

Well... you make your own settings unless you buy a mail-order sct tune. Then the tune is already premade for you no changing settings at all.
