Default Need some quick help guys

Hey all i recently purchased a '96 mstang gt witht he 4.6l. Due to an intake and entire stainless exhaust, the car is running lean. It has all stock componets, but i am wondering if a JET power tuner will fix my air/fuel ratio? The MAF is maxxed out, and i want to avoid getting another one and 24lb injectors. I need some quick help guys, i'm running up to Summit today and need to know if i absolutely have to get a MAF or not. Thanks guys

Nope, no code, she passed e-check last week. The car shudders when you give it 1/4+ throttle, it is running lean like i said. The JET tuner is supposed to check and modify ignition timing, air/fuel, and shift firmness and oints, thats why i need to know if i can just get away with the tuner.

OH forgot to say, before going to echeck i put on some catco cats, which gave it a little backpressure and did actually make huge improvements over when i drove it home. It did just have an SLP x pipe with the cats removed, and it shuttered and jerked real badly then.

sure go ahead work in the dark if you want. I just dont understand how on a stock engine you are lean. if it is lean and the engine knows it will throw a code. seriously i think you have a different problem than just tring to shange the fuel curves. and a jet is the cheapest actual tuner out there. there are others that give you even more control. like i said i dont think playing with the computer is the best way to fix your problem on a stock engine no real mods on it.

Well....Could it possibly be my spark plugs/ wires? I took a couple out and they had a clean, brown burn on them, but the electrodes were sort of wore down....but nobody around carries the motorcraft AWSF-32PP or 32P for that matter. What other kinds of plugs does the 4.6 like?

tr55 ngk plugs but the motorcraft changed to the old stock number it is now like a sp429 or something like that. sounds like the a/f is right by the way the plugs are burning. all of a sudden start doing this?

Well this is the way i bought it. The spark plug wires are the ones that came on from the factory, they are dated 1996. I know the exhaust has been on there for a while because the stainless tips (slp) have a decent amount of carbon on them. I just don't know if they guy put the intake on, and it started acting up, so then he wanted to get rid of it or what.

is the fuel pressures good? thats what it soulds like to me a fuel pump problem. might want to check the pressure on the rail. you should have like 30 at idle and 35 at accel. sounds like you are a little low.
