ok my moms pontiac grand am gt. the key goes in but wont turn. i tried moving steering wheel but didnt work any ideas? thanks

 

YANK the crap out of the steering wheel while turning the key.

 

make sure it's all the way into park.

 

tried both its not moving we also trid pushing the car a little but its on an incline facing up. any other ideas

 

i guess ill have to get it towed to the dealer[:@]

 

its not registering in park man, is the steering wheel locked too? you need something to take the load off the tranny push it forward with another car

 

the wheel turns. how am i going to push it forward with another car without f**king up the bumper or anything?

 

If you come up slow and lock bumpers it won't mess anything up. However, Im like you... So my suggestion would be to have someone hold some cardboard against the bumper or some styrofoam or something and then lock the bumpers together and start pushing.

 

yeah you need to be a good driver to do no damage in that situation, hit the car at about 1/2 mph, which will take a minute, and youll be anticpating it, and use a car that will butt up with it nice if you do, but these guys didnt mention dont push her too far, which i hope you know.

even in autos, use the e-brake on inclines/declines because your tranny/drivetrain will like you a lot more when you go to throw it in drive or reverse, mainly reverse, reverse hates inclines/declines.

did you slam your foot on the brake and try to **** with the shifter? that may engage it, i dunno. g/l

 

you can throw a blanket between the cars. with the key in the run position, can you move the shifter out of park?
