Default TIMING

Is there anyway to check the timing of a 98gt without pulling the front cover off??I was told these are nonintrference motors and if they are off time it will break many parts?

They are interference engines. If your valve timing is off considerably, you would know it.

I'm not sure. For valve timing I am sure you would have to take the cover off. Ignition timing is handled in the ECU electronically.
