difference between tuners
hey, i am interested in getting a tuner/programmer, what are the differences (adv/dis-adv) between like SCT 2 and diablo and superchips ect... the biggest thing i was is to be able to turn the rear o2's off, adjust the timing and a/f ratio....i have a manual so the shift stuff doesnt matter to me... but also i wanna lower my idle, to about 500, chug a lug...if you turn the EGR off and block it, is that gonna hurt my performance and my engine? i did on my truck but thats older...thanks everyone...

RE: difference between tuners
The SCT and Diablo are the most popular two, and both are good. Diablosport has the advantage of their new MAFia stuff. Call local tuning shops and ask them which company they use, and then buy the appropriate tuner.
You can't turn off the EGR through just the software, the pump is always running... you have to go physically disconnect it. It shouldn't hurt your engine but it's not sapping that much power.
You may stall out often with 500 for your idle, you'll defintely be chugging either way

hahaha i want it right on the EDGE of stalling, thats how i run my firebird and my truck, it sounds sooooo sweet, like high rpm idle sounds to ***** like, but i am new to this tuner stuff, what do you mean speed shops? how would i find them around me? and what do they have to do with my selection of tuners? thanks alot everyone,
