I am in Cali and wanted to know if i get an x pipe will i still pass emissions as long as i put my cats back in place?

You can buy a catted X-pipe. I just installed a Bassani catted on my brothers GT today. Sounds amazing.

well yes you can. You can buy an aftermarket X pipe with high flow cats. Problem is, it costs twice as much as the uncatted version. And I have heard many people on this forum, even an aftermarket CATTED mid pipe is illegal, simply because it is AFTERMARKET.


The stock mid pipes on 96-98 stangs have 6 cats, and on 99-04 they have 4. A catted aftermarket midpipe will have 2. I'd check with your local laws before doin it if this is a daily driver.

All I know is California hates modded cars. I would contact a Performance shop in your area or a Ford Dealarship that sells Ford Racing parts and ask them.
