Firebird VS. Camaro VS. Mustang Cobra
Hey guys, keeping the 01 GT but, now I got another baby on my mind! What should I do as far as Comfort and Performance I need a car thats got some speed but also has good ride qualities I know that the Cobra in 03,04 has IRS I believe? Does that produce alot better ride than Stock GT's? And as far as Power the T/W and SS has 345 and the T/A with 310 thats enough for me! But whats the best car?

lucky...if you found all three cars for the same price I would say cobra, but I doubt you'll find a newer cobra for the same price as an LS1...not to mention LS1's have a lot of potential so...if you have money to throw around get the cobra! if not, either LS1's are sweet.

I would def. go w/ the Cobra(obviously on a mustang forum). The IRS is better for handling, the hp is higher, and from what I hear, there is a huge difference in quality in the cobra over the GT.
You dont have a mullet do you??? hahahaha JK Trans Ams and Camaros are great too but I would rather have a Terminator.

id say cobra...but im obviously biased. if not id say get the firebird (Trans Am)...i think the lines on the body are a lot better than the Camaro even tho theyre similar cars. especially if its a Trans Am with the WS6 package

As a GM Guru......and owning a 2001 Ws6
The 98-2000 Z-28/Trans am are rated at 305hp
The 98-2000 SS/WS6 are rated at 320hp
The 01-2002 Z-28/Trans am are rated 320hp
The 01-2002 SS/WS6 are rated at 335hp
The 01 and 02 have MORE horsepower because GM put the Ls6 Intake manifold
on them from the Z06 Corvette rated @ 15hp.
The SS or Firehawk made by SLP usually rates around 5hp more or less.

RE: Firebird VS. Camaro VS. Mustang Cobra
heres what i was able to find from my research...
2002 Trans Am/Camaro is rated at 310 hp and 340 ft-lbs torque. curb weight comes in at about 3500 lbs. the Camaro actually weighs in a little lighter at about 3440 lbs. i think these ratings are without any ram air package though. add 15 hp for WS6/SS packages i believe
2004 Mustang SVT Cobra is rated at 390 hp and 390 f-lbs torque. curb weight comes in at about 3665 lbs.
also from what i found...Trans Am/Camaro comes standard with 16 inch rims (I THINK), 17 are an option...where as the Cobra comes with 17s...much better looking IMO. the Cobra is DOHC, the Trans Am/Camaro is OHV.
final assembly location for the Trans Am/Camaro that i was able to find was Canada. the Cobra was United States. thats reason enough lol
all of this info can be wrong though. i dont know much...this is just what i dug up on the internet. i thought i remembered a lot of 17" wheels on Trans Ams and stuff. so maybe everything else is wrong too. oh well. the curb weights should at least be close.
