belt tensioner- Q
my belt tensioner is stuck, it wont budge but its not damaged at all and the spring still works. i doused it with wd40 and unbolted it from the engine, then put it back on and popped the black lever up and the arm wont budge. i never really messed with it before and dont know if theres a specific way to push the arm back so i can slip my belt on. thanks a lot.

yeah it wont budg, i may have torqued it wrong. its supposed to be 15-22 i believe, but either way it wont budge inside or outside of the car. ill be buying a new one tommorow unless i figure it out. its gonna hold me up otherwise

and you are sure you are trying to move it at the right spot? You tighten it at the pivot point and there should be a square that fits a 3/8" socket somewher eon it, either that or another bolt that you twist it on

yeah i tried both ways, tightening the bolt did nothing, would it being the wrong torqe be causing this issue? it seems like the arm is all the way towards the passenger side. im trying to move it towards the drivers side to get the belt around it. so to turn it youre supposed to use the bolt, and the black lever at the top doesnt release it?

hang on a second, before i start trying to explain, could you get me a picture if it wouldn't be too much trouble? I just need to see what we are talking about. I swapped the water pump (and a belt) with no probs at all on my car so I dunno what's giving you guff
yes over torqueing it could possibly cause problems

i cant get a picture off my car, its dark out and everyones asleep but on your car itll be passenger side with an arm and pulley at the end. 2 bolts on yours and one at the swivel part.
