Default vortech update

finished putting my gas tank back in with the new pump. funny story actually. went well at first, but i broke the fuel pump assembly fuel line while removing the lines...rusty as hell and just snapped. so i bought a new one, by the way anyone need a new stock fuel pump? 88lph?, anyway so i got that then opend up my walbro fuel pump kit. they sent me the right install kit, but the wrong friggin pump! so i overnighted the right one and got that a day later, so now i have 3 fuel pumps lying around. my old stock one, my new stock one that came with the new assembly, and some random walbro one. now i just gotta figure out how to wire the battery relocation kit, and loop the belt over the new tensioner. oh yeah and md still hasnt given me word on my tune. how long do those usually take? i just needed something quick, i could really use it by saturday.

I ditched the tune that they supplied with my sc and went to a local shop and did a Diablo chip and they have a dyno.

Did you change the injectors? How about your mass air?

Well since the vortech doesnt creat boost at all rpms, cant you just stay out of it to the shop???? You wont be making squat for boost if you keep it 2-2.5krpms will you????

The car is going run totally different with the injectors. In fact, you will be lucky if it runs at all. Staying out of boost has nothing to do with it now. You have a dif mass air, fuel delivery and injectors, plus vacuum and boost. The stock chip is going to going into default and the check engine light will come on. If you can drive it, which I doubt you will, you may foul some plugs. By the way, did you put in some NGK's? Also, I am not sure about the 2V, but I have IMRC's, the bearings leaked from the boost and vacuum causing havoc with the engine do to air fuel not being right. I modded them, removing the valves and sealing the ends. New racing ones cost about 300 and you need 2 of them. I had a local shop burn my chip so I could limp it down there and set it up correctly. I have done more work so I need to dyno and burn again, but since I have done a few more things and need another run.

i havent changed the plugs yet, but definetly will. i havent even got the bypass valves hooked up yet, im mostly just waiting around for the new tune. and running it without the tune would be suicide, the most ill be doing is turning the key on so i can see if the pump is running, and setup the intercooler fluids/pump.

Sounds like you'll have a beast. Did you do any other drive train work?
