Default Convertable Tops, PRObLEMS!!

Ok, so i had a 00 GT Vert and now i have a 06 GT Vert. I am actually trying to get rid of my 06 and get a 2003 Cobra. I have a found a Vert that I LOVE but the issue is with the top. My 00 top was never correct from the moment i got it. When i went to look at this car at the dealership, it had a 1/2-3/4 inch gap in the seal at the bottom corner that touches the top and the car. one of the same problems my old top had.

So i was wondering how many of you out there have had this same problem? Also, the seal around my windows was also screwed up and let in water.

Really? The one i looked at had a HUGE gap in the seal just like my old GT Vert. Next time you wash your car, look at the back where the too goes. See if there is any water there. I only noticed because my raido went out and when i took it in, there was a lot of water in the back. I replaced my top so many times. The design flaw on them is s**t.

I have a small leak in my '99 that lets water in around the seal near the back window. It's a nuisance, but it's not too bad of a problem ... yet. Since it all pools up behind the back seat I carry a small towel and it's all good.

I use to have to let sit in the rear area about 5 large towels you would use to dry your body off after you shower and then, if it raied really hard and i could not get to it or didnt feel like getting soaked, it would actually cause my floorboards in the rear and sometimes on bad days, the front ones also to get soaked. The seals around my rear window would leak atthe bottom.

I want this Cobra really bad but that leak is just stopping me... Every other 99-04 car they had on the lot that i looked at seemed to have the same problem so i thought i would ask you all.

The gap on that Cobra is that little inch and half rubber piece that seals where the top is to the rear lower portion of the rear window. Anyone know of a way to fix that? I mean its only got 7k miles on it and its an 2003.

With copious amounts of duct tape, of course!
