Is it an auto or a stick? If an auto you might have ate the calibration gear. If it is a manual, well I don't know, LOL.

My recommendation is leave it broke. You're not rolling any miles now, and you can guess at how fast you're going by the tach.

Got a P0720 OBD II code: "output speed sensor circuit malfunction"..I think is illegal to have a malfunctioning speedo

It is definitely illegal to run w/o a speedo. I've got the troubleshooting guide techs use to determine speedo problems. It's a three part gif...pretty large. You want me to email it to you? Here's something else I came across...it's a troubleshooting list for the code you had.

VERY illegal.

I don't know about Fords, but most GM's have a sensor rigged up around the transmission for the speedo.

Funny, mine just died too. I think it's the speedo cable, the previous owner said he had probs before and he just fixed the cable. pichinco, can you send me that guide too? mforum@ebomike.com . Thx!

Is fixed now!...The problem was that the speedcal chip (installed when I change to 3.73 gears) fuse was connected to the cigarette lighter and the fuse blown when I was trying to recharge my cell phone the other day. Is funny how everything, including the Idling of my car was affected by this problem, darn computerized engines...RUn an OBD II scan (I did an got: " P0720-"output speed sensor circuit malfunction"), it will save you some money and time.
